Startup Act will revolutionise SMEs – NITDA
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa, has said the Startup Act will revolutionise Small and Medium Enterprises.
He made this disclosure during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between NITDA and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency to implement the Startup Act in Abuja recently.
According to the NITDA DG, through collaboration, SMEs would have access to funding, mentorship, and other forms of support to help them thrive and succeed.
He stated that the agency was committed to carrying out the agenda of the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focusing on reforming the economy for sustained inclusive growth
The MOU was formed with a primary focus on the expansion of SMEs addressing startup difficulties and acknowledging them as the backbone of the country’s economic landscape.
The Startup Act was signed into law on October 19, 2022, by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Inuwa noted that it was imperative to create a comprehensive database of SMEs to facilitate targeted incentives and foster digital literacy among entrepreneurs.
