Yellow Card, the pan-African stablecoin payments company, has appointed Ross Everett as its Group Chief Financial Officer, the first person to hold the role, TechAfrica News and The Condia reported.
Who he is
Everett was previously Group Financial Controller at Monzo, one of the UK’s biggest digital banks, and has also held finance roles at Deutsche Bank and worked with Barclays and KPMG. At Yellow Card he will lead global finance, including strategy, planning, reporting, treasury, capital management and governance.
“Yellow Card has built world-class infrastructure to solve a problem every cross-border business understands, moving money quickly, cheaply and reliably.”

Why now
The hire follows Yellow Card’s recent $40 million strategic funding round, raised to expand into Latin America and Asia-Pacific. The company now describes itself as financial infrastructure for stablecoin payments, treasury and access to dollars, serving businesses rather than individual crypto traders.
“As stablecoin infrastructure moves from promise to scale, we need financial leadership that can keep pace,” said co-founder and CEO Chris Maurice.
Why it matters
Bringing in a senior finance leader from a regulated bank signals that Yellow Card is preparing for tighter oversight and bigger partners as it grows. It also comes as Nigeria’s SEC works on draft rules for digital asset companies that could push the local industry towards fewer, larger and better-capitalised players.
