How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Apple iPhone 18 Pro ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.
The iPhone 18 Pro went on sale on 18 September 2026 as one of the first two models in Apple’s staggered iPhone 18 launch. It keeps the design of the iPhone 17 Pro but adds Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, a variable-aperture main camera, a larger battery with faster charging and a smaller Dynamic Island.
GSMArena reports that rising memory prices pushed the starting price up to $1,200 in the US and €1,450 in Europe.
Quick verdict
GSMArena calls the iPhone 18 Pro “an incredibly balanced compact smartphone with hardly any shortcomings”, praising its display, battery life, speakers and a genuine generational jump in performance. It is heavy for its size and not a big upgrade for iPhone 16 Pro or 17 Pro owners, but it is one of the best compact premium phones available.

Performance and battery
The A20 Pro, built on a 2nm process, was the biggest surprise in GSMArena’s testing. Battery capacity depends on the model: 4,056mAh for the version with a physical SIM tray and a larger cell in eSIM-only models. Wired charging reaches 50% in about 15 minutes, and MagSafe/Qi2 wireless charging runs at up to 25W.
Cameras
The main camera now has a variable aperture, but the reviewers found few other camera changes. Photo quality is solid across all lenses, and the iPhone remains the reviewers’ pick for video recording among its rivals.
Alternatives to consider
Within Apple’s range, the iPhone 17 Pro offers much of the same experience for considerably less. GSMArena names the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 11 Pro as its main Android rivals, both of which are much cheaper, while the Xiaomi 17 challenges it on photos and battery life. For $100 more, the iPhone 18 Pro Max adds a bigger screen, longer battery life and faster charging.
Who should buy it
Buy it if you want a premium iPhone that fits comfortably in one hand and you are upgrading from an iPhone 15 Pro or older. If you own an iPhone 16 Pro or 17 Pro, the reviewers suggest you can skip this generation.

Buying tips for Nigeria
- Buy from an authorised dealer or the brand’s official store so you get a valid local warranty.
