The Galaxy A27 brings a Snapdragon chip, six years of updates, microSD and good battery life, but slow charging and a weaker ultrawide.

Samsung Galaxy A27 review: competent, but overshadowed by other Galaxy phones

How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Samsung Galaxy A27 ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.

The Galaxy A27, released on 3 July 2026, switches to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip and has a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back, a microSD slot and six major Android updates. Its rating drops to IP64.

Quick verdict

GSMArena calls the A27 “a perfectly competent mid-range smartphone” with dependable software, good battery life and capable main and selfie cameras. But it downgrades some features from the Galaxy A26, and in many markets the Galaxy A36 and A37 cost about the same while offering more. The reviewers recommend it only if heavily discounted.

Buying tips for Nigeria

  • Buy from an authorised dealer or the brand’s official store so you get a valid local warranty.
