How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, released on 6 March 2026, is Samsung’s top phone for the year. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in all markets, has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with the new Privacy Display feature, a built-in S Pen and a 5,000mAh battery. The frame has switched from titanium to aluminium.
GSMArena lists the launch price at €1,450 / $1,300 / £1,280 for the 12GB/256GB model.
Quick verdict
GSMArena calls it an unexciting upgrade, but still “a well-balanced device with no major flaws” and a few features rivals cannot match, including the S Pen and Samsung’s AI tools. Camera changes and the unchanged battery capacity are the weak spots.

Specifications from GSMArena’s Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra spec sheet. Some features vary by market.
What reviewers liked
- Thinner and lighter design
- Solid screen with the new Privacy Display, which hides content from people beside you
- Better battery life from the same capacity
- Much faster 60W charging (75% in 30 minutes) and 25W Qi2.2 wireless
- Leading mobile AI features
- Nicer-sounding speakers and the unique S Pen
- New video features for creators
What could be better
- Basic IP68 rating; some rivals offer IP69
- Battery capacity is behind the curve
- Display lacks higher bit depth, high-frequency PWM dimming and Dolby Vision
- Camera hardware trails the top Android camera phones, with some subtle downgrades
- CPU throttles heavily under long loads
AI features
The reviewers found some new AI features genuinely interesting, but limited language support and the fact that many only work in Samsung’s own apps mean not everyone will benefit.
Who should buy it
The phone to buy if you want the S Pen, Samsung’s AI features and long software support in one package. If camera quality is your priority, compare it with rival Ultra phones first.

Buying tips for Nigeria
- Buy from an authorised dealer or the brand’s official store so you get a valid local warranty.
- Dial *#06# and make sure the IMEI matches the box. See our guide on how to check a phone is original.
- Imported units may not support every Nigerian network band or come with warranty support here, so confirm before paying.
