How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max, released on 18 September 2026, keeps the 6.9-inch design of the iPhone 17 Pro Max with four headline changes: the new A20 Pro chip, a variable-aperture main camera, a bigger battery with faster charging, and a smaller Dynamic Island. It comes in Black, Glacier Blue, Burgundy Red and silver.
GSMArena describes it as “one of the most incremental updates in recent years”, noting that Apple’s bigger news this year was the new iPhone Duo, with a 20th anniversary iPhone expected next year.
Quick verdict
The reviewers still call it an easy recommendation: a durable premium build, a sharp display, class-leading battery life, outstanding cameras and fluid performance. The main warning is for iPhone 17 Pro Max owners, who get very little new.

Performance and storage

Battery
Battery capacity is market-dependent: 5,391mAh with a SIM tray and 5,567mAh in eSIM-only versions. Wired charging reaches 50% in about 15 minutes.
Alternatives to consider
GSMArena lists the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra as the main alternatives.
Who should buy it
A strong choice if you are coming from an iPhone 15 Pro Max or older and want the biggest, longest-lasting iPhone. iPhone 17 Pro Max owners can safely wait.

Buying tips for Nigeria
- Buy from an authorised dealer or the brand’s official store so you get a valid local warranty.
