Google Pixel 11 review: dependable, polished, but too little has changed

The Pixel 11 has a great display, solid battery life, seven years of updates and a useful 5x zoom, but it barely moves on from the Pixel 10.

Google Pixel 11 review: dependable, polished, but too little has changed

How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Google Pixel 11 ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.

The Google Pixel 11 went on sale on 20 August 2026. It keeps last year’s design, 6.3-inch display and roughly 5,000mAh battery, but adds the new Tensor G6 chip, a larger main camera sensor, 256GB of base storage and magnetic Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

GSMArena quotes a price of $899 / £879 / €999.

Quick verdict

GSMArena sums up the Pixel 11 as “dependable”: well built, relatively compact, with a nice display, good battery life, a versatile camera and one of the best software commitments around. The problem is that very little is new, and at this price rivals offer faster chips, bigger batteries and quicker charging.

Specifications from GSMArena’s Google Pixel 11 spec sheet. Some features vary by market.

What reviewers liked

  • Premium, sturdy and relatively compact build
  • Bright, sharp OLED with good HDR
  • Good battery endurance, improved on the Pixel 10
  • Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging at up to 25W
  • Clean Android 17 with seven years of updates
  • Useful 5x telephoto camera and very good selfies
  • 256GB storage as standard and a fast ultrasonic fingerprint reader

What could be better

  • Too little has changed from the Pixel 10
  • Tensor G6 graphics performance still trails rival flagship chips
  • Basic 60/120Hz refresh rate; high refresh rate gaming is limited
  • Slow 30W wired charging (about 1 hour 20 minutes for a full charge)
  • Ultrawide lacks autofocus; zoom is not especially sharp beyond 5x
  • Hard to justify the price against the competition

Cameras

The new main camera produces solid photos day and night, with excellent dynamic range and pleasing colours. The 5x telephoto is genuinely useful even if not the sharpest, and the ultrawide does well in many situations despite its fixed focus. The reviewers wanted better 2x shots and steadier video while walking.

Performance

The Tensor G6 brings substantial CPU gains and feels fast in daily use, but GPU performance has barely moved and there is no hardware ray tracing, so gamers should look elsewhere.

Alternatives to consider

GSMArena points to the Samsung Galaxy S26, Xiaomi 17, vivo X300 and Oppo Reno16 as competitors around this price.

Who should buy it

Good for anyone who wants Google’s clean Android, excellent camera processing and long software support in a compact phone, especially owners of older Pixels. Pixel 10 owners have almost no reason to upgrade. Note that Pixel phones are not officially sold in Nigeria, so check warranty support before importing one.

Buying tips for Nigeria

  • Buy from an authorised dealer or the brand’s official store so you get a valid local warranty.
  • Dial *#06# and make sure the IMEI matches the box. See our guide on how to check a phone is original.
  • Imported units may not support every Nigerian network band or come with warranty support here, so confirm before paying.
