OnePlus Nord 6 review: a performance and battery workhorse, with a big question mark

How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the OnePlus Nord 6 ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.

The OnePlus Nord 6, released on 7 April 2026, combines a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip with a 6.78-inch 165Hz AMOLED display, 80W wired charging and IP68/IP69K protection. The battery is 7,500mAh in the global version and 9,000mAh in India. GSMArena reviewed the Indian model.

Quick verdict

GSMArena calls the Nord 6 “a proper workhorse of a smartphone”. Its combination of performance and battery life is so far ahead of rivals in its segment that it outweighs better cameras and design elsewhere. The reviewers say it even makes OnePlus’s own 15R hard to justify.

What reviewers liked

  • Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 gives class-leading performance for the price
  • Very large battery (7,500mAh global, 9,000mAh India) for long battery life
  • Smooth 165Hz AMOLED display
  • Sturdy build with IP68/IP69K protection
  • 80W wired charging with bypass charging

What could be better

  • Rivals at this price offer better cameras and design
  • Uncertainty over OnePlus’s future in markets outside Asia
  • The global model has a smaller battery than the Indian model GSMArena tested

The state of OnePlus

GSMArena devotes part of its review to rumours that OnePlus could scale back or shut down in markets such as the US, UK and EU. OnePlus India now services phones through Oppo service centres. The reviewers are confident about support in India, but will not make the same prediction for regions outside Asia. Nigerian buyers should weigh after-sales support carefully.

Who should buy it

Heavy users and gamers who want maximum performance and battery life for the money. If long-term local service matters to you, consider the brand’s uncertain outlook before buying.
