How we reviewed this phone: WebBuild Tech has not tested the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max ourselves. This review brings together the published specifications and the findings of GSMArena’s full hands-on review, which included lab tests of the battery, display and cameras. Opinions below are attributed to that testing. Prices and availability in Nigeria vary, so check with authorised retailers.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, released on 28 August 2026, is the first Pro Max in the Redmi Note line. It has a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip and a very large silicon-carbon battery (9,210mAh or 10,000mAh depending on version) with 100W wired charging.

Outside the EU it carries an IP68/IP69K rating and is drop-resistant up to 3m, according to the spec sheet.

Quick verdict

GSMArena was conflicted. The phone impressed with its battery life, charging, screen, durability, speakers and well-tuned cameras, but chip performance is not a strong suit. The reviewers say it is not attractively priced at launch but will probably become a great offer in a few months.
